| Breaking News |  | Thursday, May 6th, 2010: Injury Sidelines Alfonso Pantoja for Season The Carolina Hawks will lose the services of starting pitcher Alfonso Pantoja after he sustained a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament while throwing a pitch in today's game against the Phoenix Monsoon. "I'll get through it," Pantoja said. "The key now is to stay positive." His trainer said he is expected to be sidelined for the next 12 months.
This season Pantoja has a 1-1 record with a 4.71 ERA in 5 starts. |  | Monday, May 3rd, 2010: Carolina Snaps MacLeverty's Streak at 21 For 21 games in a row Travis MacLeverty of the Providence Grays had at least one hit in every game. His day of reckoning finally came at the hands of the Carolina Hawks, who held him without a hit in 3 at-bats. To make matters worse, they also won the ballgame 7-0.
MacLeverty has collected 35 hits for the Grays this year, 9 of them home runs. He has also netted 27 RBIs and scored 22 runs while batting .313. |  | Monday, May 3rd, 2010: Rincón out for 2 Months Carolina fans will be disappointed to learn that Alfredo Rincón developed a ruptured achilles tendon while running the bases in today's game. After the doctor informed the Carolina Hawks manager that Rincón was expected to miss 2 months, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the third baseman could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.
