| Breaking News | | Thursday, May 6th, 2010: Crespo Twirls Lions to Shutout Victory Juan Crespo of the Philadelphia Lions worked his mound magic on the Atlanta Dragons. He blanked them 6-0 on 4 hits, registering 8 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"Making good pitches is the name of the game and I made some good ones in this one," said Crespo after the game.
This season Crespo has compiled a 3-3 record with a 1.59 ERA. | | Friday, April 30th, 2010: Márquez Fires Shutout in Monsoon Win The Atlanta Dragons were almost helpless today in their 5-0 loss to Phoenix hurler Rubén Márquez. He kept them confused the entire ballgame and spun a 3-hit shutout.
The Atlanta manager said in the postgame interview, "Tip your hat to Márquez. He kept us off balance all night."
Márquez said, "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play. It was just one of those games that things went my way."
He had 3 walks and 8 strikeouts in a strong performance.
In 5 starts this season Márquez has notched a 1-2 record and a 5.70 ERA. | | Thursday, April 29th, 2010: Bravo to Miss 2-3 Weeks Marcos Bravo at first refused to leave today's Providence-Atlanta game after he suffered a strained hamstring muscle while running the bases. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I want to be on the field," the feisty Atlanta catcher said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Bravo out of action for 2-3 weeks.
So far in 2010 Bravo is batting .198 with 1 home run, 9 RBIs and 10 runs scored. He has 18 hits in 91 at-bats and a .282 OBP. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 10-23, .303 PCT | | Position in Division | 8th, 12.5 GB | | Record at home | 7-8, .467 PCT | | Record on the road | 3-15, .167 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 1-2, .333 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 2-5, .286 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 5-9, .357 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 5-14, .263 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 2-8, .200 PCT | | Record in April | 8-17, .320 PCT | | Record in May | 2-6, .250 PCT |
