| Breaking News |  | Sunday, September 27th, 2009: Triple Crown to Michigan's Francisco Hernández
You wouldn't have to be a baseball genius to think Francisco Hernández will win the coveted Fletch F. Fletch Award this year. The Michigan Brewers ace certainly has the numbers to take it, topping the Rob in Phoenix League with 24 wins, 2.78 ERA and 372 strikeouts to win the Pitching Triple Crown.
"It's a great accomplishment," Hernández said told reporters, "but my main goal is to go out there and win every game. The stats are nice, but they don't tell the whole story. The 24 wins are what I'm most proud of."

 | Friday, September 18th, 2009: Season Over for Davis in Michigan
The season is apparently over for Will Davis. The Michigan Brewers medical staff informed the club that the starting pitcher will be out at least 1-2 weeks with a tender elbow. Davis was hurt in the game against Philadelphia while throwing a pitch. The doctors did not think he would recover prior to the end of the season.
This season in 39 starts Will Davis has a record of 12-14 with 106 strikeouts in 247 innings and a 5.39 ERA.

It was a great game for Francisco Hernández of the Michigan Brewers. The 38-year-old hurler blanked the Houston Hurricane 3-0, stopping them on 1 hit.
