Over the past month the 21-year-old catcher for Death Valley hit .354 with 35 hits, 1 home run and 17 RBI. He also logged 2 walks and compiled a .385 on-base percentage.
So far this season Morgan has 4 home runs and a .305 batting average. |  | Thursday, August 20th, 2009: Morgan Batters San Francisco for 5 Hits If the San Francisco Bullets know how best to pitch the Death Valley catcher Mike Morgan they didn't tip their hand today. Instead Morgan showed he knew how best to hit them as he easily handled Bullets pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Heat to a 6-3 triumph at The Furnace.
He told BNN reporters in the postgame interview, "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball."
The San Francisco skipper quipped, "Well, the next time we may just do that... blindfold him... and then pitch him differently, just to be sure."
M. Morgan singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 7th, struck out in the 9th and hit a three-run home run off J. Thomas in the 11th.
